To the Editor,

ince beginning my campaign for Umatilla County Sheriff there have been several rumors around the county that I would like to put to rest. One rumor is that, if elected, it is my intent to eliminate the Sheriff's Patrol Division. I want to go on record that I do not intend to eliminate the Sheriff's Patrol Division if elected as your Sheriff. I am going to make it my number one priority to staff the jail so that it can be used to its full capacity, but that can be done without eliminating the Patrol Division. It is my intent to enhance the Patrol Division by partnering with other local law enforcement agencies.

second rumor that seems to persist is that it is my intent to terminate some of the personnel currently employed at the Umatilla County Sheriff's Department. Again I want to go on record that I have no intention of terminating employees. The only person in the Umatilla County Sheriff's Department that will not be employed if I am elected is the current Sheriff.
